Walden University Hosts 2008 Presidential Youth Debate Online

by Nick Drymalski

Youth in America rarely get the opportunity to ask presidential candidates questions directly, but that's what the Presidential Youth Debate will provide. Walden University, a private, for-profit online university based in Minneapolis, Minn., is the host of the debate, which will air online Oct. 20 at noon Eastern Time.

Participants between the ages 13 and 35 submitted questions they would like to ask the candidates, and debate moderators selected 14. Republican candidate John McCain and Democratic candidate Barack Obama have supplied videotaped answers to each of the 14 questions, which are posted on the school's website. Since 1996, every major presidential candidate has participated in the Presidential Youth Debate. The event can be viewed at www.debate.waldenu.edu and is free and open to the public.
